More than two decades after their iconic duet topped charts and became a cultural touchstone, R&B legends Brandy and Monica are officially joining forces for their first co-headlining tour. Aptly titled The Boy Is Mine, the 24-city arena tour kicks off October 16 in Cincinnati and wraps December 7 in Houston.

The announcement was made Tuesday morning on CBS Mornings, where both artists reflected on the long-awaited collaboration.

“They’ve been asking us to tour since ’98,” Brandy said. “It just finally felt like the right moment. This is a dream come true.”

Monica echoed the sentiment, describing their partnership as a “musical marriage” made possible by renewed communication and mutual respect.

Their 1998 smash hit, The Boy Is Mine, spent an incredible 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, joining an elite group of chart-toppers alongside Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. The song, which won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, has continued to resonate across generations, experiencing a resurgence thanks to a surprise cameo in Ariana Grande’s “The Boy Is Mine” music video. The remix even earned Brandy and Monica a fresh Grammy nomination in 2024—25 years after their original win.

Joining them on the tour is a powerhouse lineup including Grammy-winning artist Kelly Rowland, chart-topper Muni Long, and newly crowned 2025 American Idol winner Jamal Roberts.

The tour also marks a public reconciliation for Brandy and Monica after years of reported tension. Monica opened up during the interview, saying, “There was a lot of confusion and conflict, and too many people in the mix.” Still, both women were quick to joke that, contrary to the song’s premise, they’ve never had the same taste in men. “We don’t even like the same type of boy… there could never have been a boy,” Monica laughed.

With decades of solo hits between them, deciding on a setlist won’t be easy.

“We want to give the fans everything,” Monica said. “But we’ve got to wrap it all in two hours—a celebration of music and womanhood.”

Tickets for The Boy Is Mine Tour go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. Presale access begins Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. with code BPC.
